Please make every effort to join us on Tuesday night, May 10 to
welcome home the latest Honor Flight travelers. This is an
experience that you will never forget.!!! The flight is scheduled to
arrive at 10:10 PM.
I plan to head over there as soon as the gazebo railing painting
project is completed (after cleaning up of course). Once again,
we'll try to commandeer our prime viewing spot in front of the
United ticket counter. Forward observers (squatters) will get there
around 8:30

Our annual holiday gathering with a special visit from Santa
will be held at Fulgenzi's on Thursday December 2.
Pizza will be served shortly after 6:00 with the guest of honor
making an appearance when everyone is done eating. All Jaycee
children are welcome.
Please let me know how many family members will be attending
(children and adults) so that we can get a handle on how much
food to order and gifts to buy. Last second additions are
welcome - the more the merrier. If you don't get a chance to
respond, please come and join the fun.
There will be a short meeting after the festivities are over.
Have a great Thanksgiving!

Our annual Clothes
for Kids shopping day will be on December 4th. If you are
new to the club this is a great way to volunteer a few hours of
your time and meet more of the Jaycee members. We spend a
few hours shopping with children who are in need of clothes,
shoes, winter wear etc. More details will follow, but
please let me know if you have Saturday December 4th free.
We need a lot of help with this event! Contact Mindy Bockewitz

The Greater Chatham Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring their
second annual Rt 4 clean up project this weekend. We were able
to make a big difference by participating last year. Let's meet
at 8:00 AM on Saturday, October 16 at the gazebo on the square.
Shane will have a dump truck to haul away all the treasures we
find. Wear boots, gloves, and clothing that will make you
visible to motorists. The Chamber will have coffee and donuts
at the gazebo at 10:00.

bus. Pickup will begin at 7:00pm. Returns will begin at
1:00AM. Space is limited to 14 so reserve your spot soon.
Contact John Moore
jmoore0628@yahoo.com or call 217-652-0399. If you have a
suggestion for a pub to crawl to, just let me know. I'll be
looking for places that are having halloween parties that
night. (I know a lot of parties are the next night, but the
bus is already going out that night, so we get Friday)

Chatham Jaycees have for many years volunteered their
grilling services to the Glenwood Football Boosters at all
Glenwood Titan home games. Jaycees also provide grilling for
Special Olympics and other worthwhile volunteer events.
Thanks for your support throughout the year.

The Chatham Jaycees were among the many (a thousand maybe)
who greeted the veterans who participated in yesterday's
honor flight. It was an honor for us to greet them, shake
their hands, and thank them personally for their service. By
all accounts, it was a great trip.
We would also like to thank everybody
who came out for the 2010 Sweet Corn festival. The money
raised at this event was used to sponsor 2 local veterans on
this flight. Also 2 Chatham Jaycees went along as Guardians
(escorts). They did this on their own dime by the way. Again
thanks for attending our event, as always the money raised
in July is used all year long on worthwhile projects. We
salute YOU, People of the Corn.

The Chatham Jaycees had some unused sweet corn (a thousand
ears or so) and bread items left after the Sweet Corn
Festival. These items were transported by our food vendor,
MJ Kellner, to the St. John's
Bread Line, where they could be put to good use. Thanks
everyone for your continued support!
